Does NotebookLM have an API?
As of early August 2026, Google has not published a public NotebookLM API, so its notebooks are used inside the app. kbDrop makes every knowledge base available to developers through an API, with each key limited to the knowledge bases plugged into it. That’s the difference that matters if answers need to appear in your own product.
Can I move my NotebookLM sources to kbDrop?
There’s no direct import. Add the original files again, one at a time or as a ZIP file, or give kbDrop the public website the notebook was reading, and the material becomes a kbDrop knowledge base you can ask questions.
When is NotebookLM the better choice?
